With renown clients such as National Geographic, Home Depot, and Porsche, Liquid Web is one of the premium web hosting providers that offer outstanding dedicated, cloud, VPS and WordPress packages. They target mainly business customers, and their prices are rather on the expensive end. Read on our Liquid Web review to learn more about their plans, features, security, customer support, and pricing information.
Liquid Web Overview
While many hosting companies out there focus on the smaller plans first, Liquid Web focuses on their dedicated servers and larger hosting plans. Most of the Liquid Web plans are over $100, but what they offer on all those web hosting packages is incredible compared to others in the industry. DDoS protection, server hardening, 100% uptime guarantee, Sonar monitoring, and fully managed sites are just part of their amazing additions.
Pricing Information
When you first arrive at their website, Liquid Web starts out promoting their Dedicated Servers, which means they’re focused on larger businesses and agencies that need that kind of control and support for their sites. The unique thing about Liquid Web is that they offer unlimited bandwidth for incoming traffic, but not for outgoing data. Outgoing bandwidth consists of streaming or downloading content.

Security & Risk
As stated by many Liquid Web review writers, Liquid Web takes their security seriously. Their Storm® firewall is part of every plan they offer. Liquid Web also offers server hardening, local daily backups, CloudFlare CDNs, and Sonar Monitoring. DDoS protection is also standard. On top of the local backups, if you’d like to add data mirroring, so that you have an extra backup in another server location, you will pay a little more, but it is well worth it. It’s also worth mentioning in our Liquid Web review that their WordPress hosting offers advanced security specific to WordPress, auto updates, and free SSL certificates for all sites on the account.
Usability & User Friendliness
As many Liquid Web reviews state, one word to describe Liquid Web’s usability is customizable. For almost every plan they offer a choice of cPanel, or another type of administrative panel. Managed WordPress accounts have the choice of cPanel for those that need more control over the backend, or they can take care of everything straight from the WordPress Dashboard, which also includes iThemes Sync Pro.
Customer Support & Additional Info
Their Heroic® Support is something Liquid Web is very proud of. They offer unparalleled 24/7/365 support from their highly trained and certified specialists along with constant monitoring of their servers and free migration assistance. They go through great lengths to make sure every one of their customers gets the help they need.

Liquid Web Overall Rating
In our Liquid Web hosting review, they end up with very high ratings. Here’s a highlight of what we liked and didn’t like about their services.
What we like:
- Perfect Uptime Guarantee – 100% uptime is what you want, but very few hosts deliver. Even fewer will stake their reputation on it. Liquid Web is one confident enough to do so.
- Excellent Security – With DDoS protection, server hardening and plenty of monitoring and backup capabilities you can be sure you’ll be protected by Liquid Web.
- Super Fast Hosting – All of their main storage is SSD (solid state drives) which are faster than normal drives. They are slightly smaller due to the cost, but Liquid Web also offers their dedicated server customers an extra 1TB of traditional storage for good measure.
What we don’t like:
- High-end Prices – Liquid Web’s prices are reasonable for what they offer, but they are not for everyone. Expect to pay at least $100 per month with any of their services.
- Limited WordPress Sites – If you need more than 40 websites built on WordPress, you’ll be better off going with another option. Designers and agencies that offer WordPress sites to their customers on their hosting will be better off with a different plan.

Liquid Web Top Alternatives
After reading through this Liquid Web review, are you still searching? If so, here are some competitors we recommend you check out.
- Media Temple – Media Temple focuses on the high-end hosting just like Liquid Web, but has lower cost hosting. They also have several options for WordPress specific hosting.
- ServerMania – ServerMania closely resembles Liquid Web because of its focus on high-end hosting, but it does offer some lower price points with their shared hosting options.
- A Small Orange – If $100 is way out of your budget, check out A Small Orange. They have some of the cheapest shared hosting services on the market and are perfect for small websites and WordPress blogs.
Our Verdict
If you are a large business planning on a huge website with lots of traffic, or if you have an agency site in need of a well-monitored hosting service, then Liquid Web is for you. Their security standards are more than enough, and they will help you customize any plan they have without a fuss. Unfortunately, if you’re looking for cheap hosting, keep looking. Liquid Web doesn’t have inexpensive shared hosting options available.
